Layout Twice...Cut Once
Before making any cuts, I explored multiple layout possibilities using Bluebeam PDF editor. The scaled slab photo's were overlayed onto rectangles that represent the intended finish dimensions of serving tray. This allowed for multiple "cut combo's" to be reviewed prior to making any cuts..

Pre-Pour steps included: 1. Surfacing and planning each piece, then squaring up faces and corners ---- 2. Build form out of ¾” melamine with screws and silicon caulk at all joints. ---- 3. Pre-Seal wood to prevent the black epoxy dye from staining the wood fibers. ---- 4. Clamp wood down to bottom of form to prevent wood floating when pouring epoxy.
